A useful perspective when publishing your book is to view the publishing process as a business-to-business relationship where we like to see the author and publisher as partners, each dedicating time to their areas of expertise:



Creator, expert, and brand

Essentially the owner of a small business

Marketing & publicity: through personal and professional contacts, social media, and own website/blog



The coordinator

Producer: hub for network of freelance specialists in editorial, design and delivery

Delivery: in electronic form as a website, an application or ebook; print on demand if hardcopies desired, or as a full hard-copy print run

Sales: direct online sales or through bookshops nationally if print run.

Publicity: publisher contacts, social media, and company's own website/blog
